WhatsApp payment feature allows you to send money from one bank to another bank. WhatsApp Pay is based on the UPI platform. Hence, you don’t have to worry about recipient’s bank details to transfer money.
Things to remember before you decide to send or transfer money on WhatsApp
- If you are a sender then your Bank account details must be added in WhatsApp payments. So once you send or transfer money then that amount will be debited from your bank account.
- A receiver also needs to enable WhatsApp payment feature in order to receive money. For that receiver also should have verified bank account details on WhatsApp payments. So that amount is credited in that Bank account.
- You will not be able to send money if your contact doesn’t have WhatsApp payment feature enabled.
How to send or transfer money on WhatsApp?
If you are doing it for first then follow these easy steps to send or transfer money on WhatsApp.
Go to WhatsApp Application => Go to chats of contact to whom you want to send or transfer money on WhatsApp.
Tap on Attach option => Select Payment
Now enter the last debit card details and Tap on Set up UPI PIN.
Before setting up UPI PIN you need to go through the OTP verification process. If OTP is not auto filled then you can OTP manually.
Create UPI PIN and Submit it
Once UPI PIN setup is complete then tap on Done.
You are all set to send the money on WhatsApp.
Go to Chat => Attach => Payment
Enter the Amount which you want to send or transfer through WhatsApp Payment.
Add a remark or description related to payments and Tap on Send button.
That’s it. Money will be sent to your contacts. After successful transfer of money, you will receive transaction details in WhatsApp chat.
